Dutch S40?
Okay so I bought my first Volvo, and I'm happy with it. A 2001 S40 1.9T. So now I'm wondering about it's origin. Why does it say on the engine compartment that it's made in the Netherlands, and not Sweden. I also noticed that alot of things in it are tagged "Made in Germany" What's up with that? Not that I don't like it, i actually like the idea of a Dutch car, but can someone tell me or link me to site that would explain all of this. Thanks to all.

RE: Dutch S40?
The answer is:
There's a company called DAF who make trucks. I mean big trucks. They made a car in the * I think * early seventies, it was a dog. They sold the car part of the business and stuck with what they know best (trucks) and that car division was bought by Volvo. I'm pretty sure the C70 is built in Belgium, but I don't know why.
Now can someone explain why my headlight protectors are made in Australia?

Here's the story: http://daf.onlinecarstore.co.uk
Here's a picture of the thing: http://home.hetnet.nl/~dhardes/image...pen%20copy.jpg
It was sold as the Volvo 66 for a couple of years.
