EML constantly on Volvo S40 2001 reg
Please help! Recently bought Volvo S40 2001 (Y reg) few days after buying, EML came on - took to local garage who hooked up to diagnostic computer and advised it was the lamba sensor - this was replaced (with Bosch part not genuine volvo part), since then light comes on after few miles of driving - car been in garage 5 times (every week since bought...) they have checked new lamba sensor, replaced temp sensor, hooked upto bosch computer (that apparantly reads ECU in more detail ?), reinitialised it (?), disconnected battery to reset, checked exhaust - ok.
collect car last night - gues what light back on this morning !?! Am loosing will to live - has anyone got any ideas?
Just to mention - other that light being on - car is lovely, there seems to be no loss of power and it drives great???
Please help!
cheers Nic

(Please forgive me if my North American knowledge is different for the European version.) Which lambda (O2) sensor, top or bottom? The top one is for open/closed loop feedback and important for running efficiently. The bottom one is for sensing if the cat convertor is working properly. Does yours have 2?
