the car had been sitting for two weeks (vacation) now when we start the car for the first time the engine light comes, when the car was fine before we went... the car runs fine, nothing seem wrong or feels funny.. could the fact that it sat for two weeks cause this to happen? this is a 2000 s40..

We have no idea. Have the codes read and see what happens. Drive it a few days it might go out.

 

On the 2000's the Fuel Pressure Regulator goes out ALOT, and will affect the

Air/fuel ratio.... Code

Overboosted turbo Code

And create a "Rich Fuel" code.

If you have taken it somewere, Tell them to check the FPR....

If you do it yourself make sure you take the "Fuel Pump" Fuse out and let it run until it dies. (Give it a few pushes on the gas)

And then check for leftover oil in the FPR.
