My 2005 T5 AWD Manual started two new problems the other day. First off when I get into the power band around 3K RPM my engine starts to growl and you can feel it shake. Most pronounced in 2nd gear. Im thinking trouble. Also, I get a ticking sound thats audible in 1st through 3rd. Each gear I step up it increases in frequency, ex. 1st gear 3 clicks per second, 2nd 6 clicks, etc.

Any ideas?

 

I was digging through my engine compartment and noticed a brown/red wire that was hanging broken out of my ECU top harness. After going through the electrical diagram discovered it was to the knock sensor. I have just hooked it back up, but I guess that could be the strange problem I am experiencing during acceleration. Still have the ticking though. Would love to know if anyone has thoughts on that.
