Default Exhaust

I have a 2004.5 s40 T5. What is the best bang for your buck as far as exhaust systems go. Looking for a good sound and performance if any but trying not to break the bank

The best bank for the buck is the OEM system, as is.

why are you shopping - is the current exhaust system broken or are you looking for a change in sound/performance? The OEM volvo exhaust is probably the longest lasting system I've ever seen with the exception of the flex pipe in front of the cat. In terms of aftermarket, don't expect a noticeable performanance gain without complimentary mods such as an ECU tune and 3" downpipe. You can find cat back kits in the $750 to $1250 range by shopping tuner web sites - for example, EEuroparts, Viva, Eurosport Tuning, Elevate offer kits. IMHO, $1000 is a lot of money to get a frumpy noise that drowns out your sound system....
