Help - Water dripping onto passenger mat
Not sure if it’s coolant or rainwater....had a brownish colour to it so might just be dirty water. The underside of the cabin air filter housing is soaked and so is the plastic rectangular piece to the left of it (what is that anyway?). has anyone else had this happen? We did drive through some rain today (10hrs if driving).

Do you have a sweet smell on start up when the heat is on? are you needing to periodically refill the coolant overflow? If so, its time to pop open the sides of the center console and look at the heater core and O-rings. If not, then you likely have rainwater getting in - read up on the posts that talk to the roof channel drains getting clogged or look for any cracks up top of the firewall (you may need to remove the cover up by the wiper arms) to see if rain water is not draining properly or if there's a seal/crack letting rain in.

Thanks guys. I’m pretty sure it’s water. No mist on windshield, no sweet smell or taste to the liquid. No change in coolant level after 24hrs of driving down the coast. Having said all this there was little to no rain on day 2 of travels and dripping continued. Wondering if I might have an ac condensation thing going on. Drain seems to be flowing though.
On a a related note I pulled out the cabin air filter. It is dry (except along the bottom) but I also have a green stain right in the middle...same shade as ac refridgerant dye...hmmm.

Check to see if the condensation drain lines are clear and water is not backing up in the heater box. What can look like dirty water can also be slime buildup from water standing in the box.
I recommend that you use a shop vac and connect to the end of the drain lines. If you get a bath, that's likely the cause.
