Extended Warranty

Extended Warranty
Hi,
The original factory warranty on my S40 is about to run out and I would like to extend it. My dealer is quoting $2880 for extending it by another 3 years (100$ deductible, bumper-to-bumper). This is from Volvo.
Does this sound reasonable?
I am a skeptical with taking up thrid-party warranties - but, not sure how much the Volvo warranty is negotiable at the dealer.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks for the replies.
After looking at feedback regarding 3rd party insurance, I'm thinking I'll stick to Volvo Cares warranty to avoid hassle and for peace of mind.
Does anyone know if I can buy the 3 yr/36K warranty (Volvo has this for used cars) while your vehicle is under factory warranty? I am hearing conflicting things from two volvo dealerships - one says I am eligible only for extending the warranty to 7yr/60K (or more mileage), while other says that I can buy the 3 yr/36K (which is cheaper than extending to 7yr).
Any ideas?
Also, what is the ballpark price? So far I've been quoted 2500+tax.

Thats a tough one.. I am sure some dealers are adding "fluff" to the bottom line to make a little extra... Where did you purchase your Volvo? I would call them and see if they can help you out... If it is out of state, call them anyways and have them point you in the right direction. If that does not work, then call Volvo North America. Ask for the District Managers office that handles your area you live. Explain them the situation and he/she should get you the right price and also a dealer to help.. I have done that before and got straight answers.
