Gas/Brake Pedal Proximity Problem
Any easy way to move the brake pedal away from the throttle pedal? I didnt get too crazy looking up under the dash tonite, thought I felt some fasteners up on the brake pedal stem.
Are there different options that anyone knows about?
It's tough to get my sneaker between the brake & hump to reach the gas..almost impossible in my boot(s). Coming off the gas was no fun a coupla times as well.
Any other "Bigfoots" notice this? Thnks
On edit- My wife noticed this too...and she isnt a Bigfoot.

good lord have i ever noticed it!!!![sm=hiya.gif]i have bigish feet wearing a 12 and the driver leg always gets tangled up. another thing i noticed is that the seat dosent go back quite far enough and im only 5'9"... its not un comfortable i just would like it to back an inch more....straying back to your solution... you probly shouldnt mess with it since we are speaking of volvo's and know how finicky they love to be at times the best way could think of is relocating the pad it's self or bed it or cut and reweld it...though i DONOT RECOMEND!!!! hopefully you find some resolution[sm=signs003.gif]
Well..we are not alone. I checked out complaints on the NHTSA site...there was a few..and now there is one more.
I can understand your comment about not recommending cutting & welding for Liability reasons- but I am no slouch to welding..and it might just beat the alternative.
I am going to look up in there and see what is what as far as how its configed. I'll check the dealer and make my feelings known as well.
Never been a real big car fan- but I really do like this one. Went out this a.m. before spending the day detailing..its now officially the wife's car. She is grocery shopping as I type.
Maybe my Cummins Powered, 4$ a gallon Ram P'up will get traded for another S40?
Crazy days these are.
