gas and outside temp. gauges

gas and outside temp. gauges
Something strange happened to my 2003 s40. The outside tempature gauge showed -30 Cwhen it was
9 C and the gas gauge showed 1/4 tank of gas left when there was 3/4. This is the first time for the gas gauge but the temp. gauge did it before. Anybody experience this before?

May be electrical connection problem for the instrument. For the OAT sensor, I usually locate mine (850) and exhale to it to see if the temp gauge responds. As to the fuel level gauge, it may be a faulty sender unit but the two gauges may be correlated.
Wait till others in the S40 forum jump in, as I'm not privy to S40 and this is the best guess I can give you.
