The light on my console gear shift is burnt out. The list :

is out, black. What light model replaces it and how do i get the cover off to replace it?

I'm not sure of the bulb type. It's a tiny little dealer only type if I remember correctly.

Remove the rubber mat in the space under the radio to expose a slit and two tabs
Slip an Allen wrench or similar into the slit then pull up while pinching the two tabs
Under the plastic piece is the bulb. This is also a good time to lube the exposed metal bits and the locking solenoid.

 

Definitely clean and lubricate the locking solenoid!!!! I took the bulb to a local auto parts store. It was @ 4 bucks for two. It was surprisingly easy to access, but be careful not to break anything.
