My headlight main beams appear to be poorly aligned. I know they can be adjusted up-and-down with the little thumbwheel to allow for varying weight distribution, but is it possible to adjust them side-to-side as they are not really picking up the kerb line.

The North American version is adjustable up/down, left/right with a phillips head screw driver. No idea if the European version is the same.
