Default Help! Oil Pouring Out

Good Morning, I have recently changed the oil pan on my 08 S40. Once I put everything back together, refilled it with oil and did a test, I had oil pouring out from passenger side of car. I had never seen anything like it before. Obvious questions I checked first. Yes, drain plug was installed.

I used the anaerobic sealant and from the best I can tell, oil was not coming out from around the pan. After cleaning up around the oil spillage, I think I may have found the source but not certain. I have read online and spoke to a mechanic that they though it might be a crank case seal.

I snapped a couple of photos and attaching it to the post. In the photo, just behind the pulley, it feels like there is a rubber or plastic seal that is loose, and is partially exposed. Could this be where the oil is coming from? Looking online, it looks as if internally this pulley is attached to the oil pump. I really would appreciate some feedback. Thank you all in advance.

It does look pretty wet in and around that pulley for sure. If the crank seal was leaking it would leak a fair amount of oil which is consistent with what you are seeing. Do the traces of oil show any higher up than the crank? If not I think your diagnosis is probably a good one. Be sure to check for correct crank case ventilation - it would be a shame to go through all that work only to have seal pop again due to positive pressure.
