Default HELP with RWD engine swap!

Hello all. so I am currently in the middle of a project(kind of a Frankenstein) I have 2 complete cars, a 2003 S40 with the B4204t3 and a 2005 S80 with a B5254t2. Both engines are in perfect conditions. The cars have severe body damage. Now, the victim for the swap is a Toyota AE86 (I know, I know but it is what I got to work with) so, looking at whiteblock swaps, do all whiteblocks have the same bellhousing bolt pattern? Are all whiteblock rwd swaps done with the same adapters? I need to know before I buy any type of adapter. I will be using either a Ford T5 or a Toyota W5x transmission depending on the requirements to complete this monster. Another thing that I cant figure out is the engine management if these engines have VVT. Any ideas, comments advice? thanks in advance.

Yikes. I think you're plowing a new furrow with this one... hope you find someone out there with some knowledge about your options!

interesting question regarding the swaps. If you want to know a bit more about the engines, google "volvo modular engine wiki" Yes both the 4204T3 and the 5254T2 have VVT. You should be able to find the engine management version but as a general consideration, you probably want to keep the harness that matches that engine. If there's going to be a tricky spot its going to be with the transmission/shifter so read up on how people deal with that as part of a manual transmission conversion. I can't say for certain regarding the bell housings but I would not be surprised if they are the same across the modular engine lines and years (considering how Volvo was a heavy user of Aisin's). Since Volvos were akin to Fords for a few years, you may want to also read up on which Ford models shared the white blocks to see if that gives you some clues as well. Otherwise you may need to call around to some speed shops with Volvo experience.
