Default How to clean inside of headlamp - 2005 S40

It looks like water got into one of the headlamps and it's dirty inside the headlamp - probably moldy. How can I remove that an clean it? It's the front right headlamp and it's a 2005 S40 - not turbo. The headlamp has a regular bulb - not a LED. Thanks.

There is no way to get in there and even if you could get it clean it would just happen again in a short period of time. Time to seek out a salvage replacement. There are multiple sellers on ebay.

It take less than 30 seconds to remove and install the headlight. You pull the metal pins, push the back portion out and pull the headlight towards you. Thats it

Thanks Damien! Do I need to disconnect the battery beforehand or anything else like that? Thanks.

No need to disconnect the battery. You will need to disconnect the headlight electrical connector though. With one hand holding the housing use your other thumb to press down on the little metal bar on top of the connector while wiggling the connector until it's free.

If you now have an extra headlight bucket, you can try working on the old one with the instructions from MyNameIdeasWereTaken's videos. The outer lens is held with mastic, & can be separated. Unlike the taillight assemblies, AFIK.
