How to Disable Alarm (without disabling anything else)
Hi All-
I have a 2005 Volvo S40.
It does the spontaneous alarm thing that is sporadic and unpredictable.
I've seen LOTS of posts of what it might be that is causing it etc etc but its unresolved and I'm sick of it. Further, I'm not real concerned about someone stealing or breaking into the car as long as its locked.
Can anyone tell me a fail-proof way to just disable the alarm siren without disturbing anything else?
I have a capable mechanic I will give the assignment to!
Thanks in advance.

Update on Alarm
Hi Hudini,
Yes, the update is that I just had the siren removed from the car and not replaced. It required a bit of surgery in taking off the Driver's side front wheel and removing the wheel well cover to get to it. After doing this (or having it done) you'll best be prepared by picking up some of the rivets from Volvo that fasten the wheel well cover in place-otherwise you might be hunting around at a hardware store for the right sized replacements.
Removing the siren did not affect the function of anything else and there are no dash lights lit as a result.
I think its definitely a DIY project- I didn't because the car was in another city with a family member getting a wheel hub replaced and I just had that task added to the list while it was in the shop.
