Default 2010 S40 Inside handle Pull "Unlock" mechanism not working

Hello folks,

I've recently encountered an issue with my inner door handle on my 2010 S40.

While the car is locked (with me inside), the first pull of the inner door handle should unlock the door, thus the second pull should open the door. This however is no longer the case for my driver-side door as of a few days ago.

Now, when pulling the handle for the first time, the lock indicator **** goes up (appearing to be unlocked) but when letting go of the handle, the **** does not remain elevated, thus locking the door again. I can simply press the unlock button on the door, but would rather use the handle as I've come to get used to (and how it should properly work).

Has anyone else had this issue, or would know how to resolve it? Can I detach the battery or factory-reset the lock settings?

The only thing differently I've done recently is once attempted to lock the door by pushing down the lock ****, which the car wouldn't allow and immediately unlocked anyways.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Probably going to need a new lock. It's a mechanical issue, not electrical.
