Hello.
I am having a small problem locking/unlocking my car with the remote keyfob.
The car is a S40 2006 model
When the weather is humid (foggy/rainy) I cannot lock/unlock my car either from a distance or even by touching the key around, below or above the car.
The remote does not do anything for hours until the humidity is away. This especially happens when the car is parked at my house.
I didn't have the problem for 8 months. Today it is very humid and the problem is back with humidity :S

Does anyone have the same problem?
Is there any way to solve it?
My dealer says everything looks OK.

change the battery on the remote.

 

As I said, this happens only when the weather is humid. It didn't happen for a period of 6 months and now it appeared again.
I also changed the battery and used the extra remote without any result.

 

well that takes care of any remote problems, the problem then is the receiver inside the car that activates the lock unlock feature. It probably is faulty, which would need replacement. I would go back to the dealership and let them know that there is an existing problem with the lock unlock remote control...
