Loaded quick struts front 2004 S40
2004 S40 1.9T base
Looking and can not find a source for loaded struts for the front. Any help on this is appreciated. If they are not available whats your parts list to build them, complete. I do not fix things by being cheap.

The only ones I found (in a quick search) are the FCS 1335555L / R
Those are on rockauto.com - and are (amazingly) $80 each, and seem to include everything you'd need (strut, spring and mount).
Otherwise, you'll just need to buy a "naked" strut (for example, KYB struts are about $80 "naked"), and strut mounts. You'll also need a spring compressor. This is the route I usually go, since it doesn't have any chance to affect ride height, or stick me with a less-than-OEM-quality spring.

the springs on the Gen1 S40s are very long - longer than most traditional spring compressors can handle., plus the seats need to be aligned properly (there's a sighting hole in the spring seat and the strut bottom bracket). If you decide to go DIY - its not that hard provided you have the correct long spring compressor - standard off the shelf "death sticks" won't work.
Sorry - I didn't select the 1.9T option when I searched (I'm a little shocked - pun intended - that the configuration is different between the two). I swapped the springs over on my 2005 V50 (same as S40) but apparently they're shorter than yours (and my compressors were just long enough to do the job).
Thank you, much appreciated. My tech found the speedometer cluster I needed and put it in yesterday. Whoa, it only had 43K on it so I said see if the front struts are available. Was a bit expensive to build them with good parts and then $300 to install.
I actually just changed my struts yesterday on my 2004 1.9t 1st Gen.Rented a spring compressor wasn't very hard taking them out but the sway bar end link usually has a torx that you hold still while turning the ratchet usually strips I'd just replace them with easier to remove and install end links, other than that it's a matter of taking the whole strut and spring assembly out compressing the spring once it's compressed take out the Piston nut 18mm usually an impact wrench is needed than take out the strut mount, bearing and seat get new strut attach spring make sure it sits against the upper and lower seats put the bearing and strut
mount back in place tighten down piston nut and installation is reverse
