Default Lots of black dust from brake pads ?!?!

The wheels on my new (to me) 2000 Volvo V40 are black within a couple of weeks after I clean them. I've never owned a vehicle before that generated so much brake dust.

Do Volvo OEM pads do this? Or did the previous owner install aftermarket pads that are creating all the dust?

I'm going to replace the pads as I I'm tired of cleaning the wheels every week. Do you recommend Volvo OEM pads? Some other brand?

Thanks!

OEM pads are good, great for breaking, dirty has heck. I usually get ceramic pads from iPd, less dust and brake just as good.

After doing some research I've ordered Akebono Euro pads from fcpgroton.

Any tips on a Volvo brake job (pads only)? Do these cars have screw-in caliper pistons or anything unusual like that? Thanks!

Shouldn't.

BTW, Going 4 days are long enough for any wheels to get dirty.
