manual transmission in a 2001 volvo s40
hey i was thinking of purchasing a 01 s40 but i noticed that a manual transmission is not available in one i was wondering if there was a way to swap a manual tranny in one and around how much it would cost to do so if it is possible, i really hate automatics and probably wont buy the car if its not possible

thx for your info

You probaly wont be able to find a manual trans. for it unless you import one.If you only want a man. trans. then you will probaly be better off with either an 850 or S70 they are avalible in manual transmission.
I highly advise NOT installing a manual transmission. It is a long, drawn out process that is not worth your money, trust me. I had a friend that did it with a Dodge Stealth and he hates himself for it.
They have to rip out your ENTIRE center panel at the base. Then they have to take all the wiring and ***** out to put in new ones. Then you actually have to buy the new transmission, and that's not something you want. They also have to install a clutch, which is amazingly hard, given you already have your brake and gas spaced out to the point of where they'd have to move that over too.
So yeah, buy a different car.
