Default Marker lights do not work

I know that many of you might think that this is a simple fuse issue, but I assure you it is not. I have replaced all marker bulbs on the car and checked the fuse! I can get all of them to work at first, but then after driving they all go out. It feels like a have a short somewhere. All of the bulbs are seated properly.

Anyone had similar issues?

Have you pulled the switch and made sure that the connector is pressed all the way in? The fuse may look OK but try replacing it anyway since that is a cheap try.

Or you could have a similar problem to mine which is the ECM for the lights. But mine is shorted in the always on position (no matter what position the switch is in all of my lights are on all the time).

The ECM is very expensive and even if you get one from a junkyard it still has to be addressed by the dealers computer or so I've been told.

("Have you pulled the switch and made sure that the connector is pressed all the way in?")

When you say "switch" you mean the fuse right?

("Or you could have a similar problem to mine which is the ECM for the lights. But mine is shorted in the always on position (no matter what position the switch is in all of my lights are on all the time.")

Is there just one ECM on these cars? Or is there a separate one for the lights?

Thanks for the help, I even thought about replacing the wires, but tracing them back to the source looks painful!

When I said switch I meant the actual light switch on the dash.

I thought there was a separate one for lights and electrical but it's been so long since I inquired about a replacement maybe I am remembering it wrong. I will not be offended if someone has to set me right on that.

Not exactly related but there are two service bulletins for headlights. S40/v40-3-37-0010 and 0017 Maybe you have the first but not the second installed and it's causing the whole thing to fail. I no longer have Vadis installed but I had printed them out. Hopefully someone else can step-up with those or I will have to scan them to post them.
