that's where i found both types (ebay) and they look virtually identical. it may be that the ones listed for the early 70 were aftermarket or something, but they were the shorter style like the '01+ style. if the hole underneath the name plate is the same size, then i would think either one would fit (?? just a guess.)

I was looking at those the other day as well, the stock old style ones have an amber lense and look just like the newer ones like on S40's ect. the only concern i would have would be the curveature of the lense housing and if it fit the fender well.
If your car do not have them the connecter is not importand because you'll need to wire them on your own anyway, i wouldn't think that the wires are there already, well that's what it says on fcpgrotons site
BTW groton sells clear ones for your car for #30 pair
