Default side marker lights

after much trying i managed to get a front marker light out of the bumper but there is a blue rubbery stuff on the back where the bulb goes in,do you have to dig this stuff out to get to the bulb if so do you have to put any thing else back in after replacing the bulb

Hi there mate,

I think you will find that those little puppies need to be replaced as a whole unit as they are made as a sealed unit and cost about ~£15 each. You could just leave them as they are not required for the MOT

hi there.bit pricey so i think i will leave it as it is,i was reading your other post about this clunking noise and wondered if it is just something to do with these cars as mine is a v40 estate and that clunks a lot on bumpy roads and same as yours has just gone through a m.o.t. and passed with no problem so i just put up with it(and the non working marker light)i hate it when things dont work properly though ernie

Yes the clunking noise. I had a look last night and my rear driver side does need doing and i may as well do both. That’s the linkage on the anti roll bar. The rubber washers have perished and there is a bit of play with that whole joint area. I think it is the source of the noise as it never used to be there a couple of months ago. I will get it done in the next week or so and let you know if it sorted it. I recommend you take a look at yours but you will have to lie on your back to get your head under the back of the motor. You never know!

ernie,

I bought replacement linkage for both sides and had the old ones taken off/replaced and now there is no noise. £24 on parts and £40 for the labour
