Misfire on cold start
Hello! I recently purchased a 2000 S40 1.9T and it has been very troublesome. I love it, but hey, whatever. I've replaced the timing belt, hoses, coils, plugs... you name it, it's been done. However, in the morning when it's cold (I'd say ~34F), cylinder 3 misfires. After about 20 seconds, it runs fine. I know that it's not that big of a problem, but it's annoying and I'd like to fix it. Is this a common problem among S40s? What should I do?
On top of that, my heat stopped working a few weeks back and now blows cold air. Should I just give in and get a new heater core?

i have the same car, 2002. had misfires for years, especially cold starts.
is check engine light on? mine is on, but goes on and off all the time.
i took it to volvo to get my oil changed last week, and they diagnosed the issue for "free." needed a new ignition coil. so i had my own mechanic do it, since they did the coils about a year ago. they changed the coils and wires today, and after the repair, the car wont start. they got some "software error" -- whatever that means, and they are stumped.
still without a car. good luck with your repair.
