Welcome to the Forum!

Fuel pressure should be about 59 psi or 410 kpa. Make sure it has pressure, not just flow.

Try holding the throttle open a tiny bit when you crank the engine to see if it starts.

Check the fuses in the engine compartment.

I checked the fuel pressure and it's@ 45 psi. the fuss are ok and I tried starting out with the throttle open just a bit and still won't start. could it be the fuel pump or the regulator.

Do you get spark to the cables??? did the car overheated? do you hear the fuel pump when you put the ignition in second position? Did you try spraying some starter fluid in, to see if it would start for a bit

You said that, you changed the crank position sensor, was that due to a code, or you just assumed its bad. I would check the compression as well, since the car gets fuel and spark. If you really trying to fix the car yourself, the best guy to ask is Hudini, that guy is like a volvo owners manuel.

Yes I changed the crank position sensor due to a code. I also checked the compression of all cylinders and they were 152-142-142-152.

Fuel pressure is low. Most likely the fuel pressure regulator.

Having written that, my 2001 suddenly quit while my daughter was driving it. It restarted once enough to get it off the road but would not fire after that. When I checked the fuel pressure it was zero. Guess who got to change a $305 fuel pump ASSEMBLY? We don't just have a simple pump; we get a pump, level sending unit, and plastic sump housing all in one expensive setup. Yay. At least it was easy to access under the rear seats and carpet.

Disconnect the MAF and see if it changes anything.
