Default Need advice on how to remove oil pan

ok, i've got all the bolts out except 2 of them that are between the oil pan and the subframe. My question is this. Can I use a jack to support the motor and then remove the motor mount bolt and then the 2 bolts for the subframe in the front? Or will I have to remove the entire subframe? Will I need to use a cherry picker or engine hoist or will a jack suffice? I just need the subframe to drop about 2-3 inches to back those 2 bolts out so i can get the oil pan off. Are there any other bolts/parts i need to remove to get the oil pan out? I removed the oil cooler already too.

Thanks!!!
Justin

If it is a 2000-early 2004 then you can remove the cross member and not worry. There is 4 mounts total 2 upper and 2 lower.

Then you will not need to support the motor the top mounts will hold the motor.
It will just sway some which is fine.

Thanks for your help!

I'm helping my brother because he cracked his oil pan. I was going to take it off and weld it for him and you just saved him a ton of money cuz I thought he might have to take it in because I do'nt have a cherry picker.

Nope there is a motor mount on the front of the motor and one on the top of the tranny.
Remove the lower bar with the 2 lower mounts and the motor will hang with no problem.
