Hello all, new to the forum and I hope someone can help me with this.
I have a 2009 S40 with the normally aspirated 2.4 liter 5 cylinder engine.
I looked all over the internet prior to starting the job, and done timing belt on other cars (successfully ) So I started the job and everything was good until I attempted to install the cam locking tool. On my car, there are "gear" to allow the sensor to get the cam position. Are the screw holding this reverse thread? Does anyone know what the part number is, so I can get a replacement (cannot find it in the Volvo's part catalog) Any advice on how to remove that screw? (I am thinking of tapping on it, maybe some hear??)
Any info on how to reinstall the VVT gear would also be appreciated
The screw at the center should be a T-30 but is now partially stripped... Any idea on timing this VVT will be appreciated. I think that the little mark is top dead center.
.
No need to lock the cams if just doing the belt. That bolt usually has to be cut off and replaced, along with the reluctor. Not worth it for just doing the belt.
