Default new coils, still slight hesitation

Hello, i am stumped with my S40 (2000) U.S. it was actcing up last month, i had lost my get up and go, I thought at first it may need a fuel injector cleaner so i ran 2 treatments to2 full tanks, but that didnt help, also replaced air filter with a FRAM (not sure if thats my problem) anywayswhen changing the air filter i noticed the foam lineing in the air box hadwas almost gone and in tiny foam bits everywhere, irealy thought that wasthe problem but nope kept hesitating.

So i came to this site and read for hours on end to find maybe an answer, after reading many posts, went out to the car again and found cracked coils, and replaced them. my wires all looked okay, my spark plugs i re-adjusted back down to .030 and it still hesitates, but it does run 90% better, at 60mph - 75mph on a hill is still rough.

Please any body. Jay(wa)

Is this cracked or bad coil a common problem with the S40's. We have a 2000 S40 1.9T that had a missing problem at 2500+ RPM's. The shop replaced a bad coil and all new plugs. Works like a champ......

Does the check engine light flash?
does it vibrate under hard acceleration?

mine still vibrates under hard acceleration, but no check engine light at all. Also if it helps, starting the car sometimes takes a while, but not all the time. (I did notice on the FPR, there is a blue plastic split ring thats fits on top of the assembly) well mine keeps slipping off onto the hose, and the hose has a 1/4 inch of play. any ideas?
