Default Purchasing '05 T5 Opinions Needed!

Hello everyone,
Matt in San Luis Obispo CA here. I am purchasing a 2005 S40 T5 from a friend and am unsure whether to go through with the purchase due to the high mileage of the car, (95,400)
I looked into aftermarket warrantys but the car does not qualify due to it has lowered springs/shocks, 18's and a cold intake already.
I was kinda counting on the 24K mile warranty to save my *** if things started falling apart on me within the first couple years.

So, with no experience with Volvos, what are some of your opinions?
Now that the policy isnt an option, I dont want to solely rely on my mechanic's opinion. After checking it out today it needs new CV in front, rear wheel bearing... other than that it is due for timing belt..

I know for a fact that this car has been babied by the owner, (buddy's wife) she has been miticulous about the fluid changes and dealer check ups.
She has owned two years and the only issue she had was a check engine light due to the gas cap.

For 9,000 - I feel like Im getting a pretty good deal, at the same time, a 95000 mile car with a turbo, scares me. Especially when Im financing it over 5 years.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.. Is this a good deal?
Thank you very much in advance.
Matt

MattinSLO,
I just joined the forum a few minutes ago, Greetings to all.
Yesterday I bought a 2005 S40 T5 with 110000 miles. The car was a one owner car and it is really clean inside and out. The used car place was asking for 8995, then they dropped it to 7995 last weekend. I paid 7800 out the door.
Being new to Volvo I can't offer much advice but since you know the car has been well cared for that has to be a big plus.
Good luck which ever way you decide.
Regards,
mike
