Hey guys, I just bought my first volvo, an 05 s40 2.4i. The car is great, but there is one concern, my car seems to make a lot of engine noise when in neutral, well more specifically the lifters, they seem really loud for a new car. As soon as I shift to 1st the noise seems to disappear, I know engines are noisy when cold, but this happens when the car is on idle temp. too. Since this is my first volvo I have no idea if this is normal, plus my dealership is 2 1/2 hrs away. And I havent seen another one arround here to compare to. Any thoughts??

The injectors are fairly loud on the newer cars.They sound almost like a lifter noise.It is almost normal. When you take it in for the first service tell them about your concern.
