Not shifting, stuck in high RPM's
I have a 2000 S40 Turbo and have recently been having issues with it shifting out of first. The rpm's just keep climbing and there's no rhyme or reason as to when it decides to jump into gear. Sometimes taking your foot off of the gas, letting them drop and then start accelerating again will work, shifting to a lower gear will sometimes work and sometimes it'll just do it on its own.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Chuck

Is the weather button pushed in or the "up arrow" on solid? (hopefully not flashing) The car will normally illuminate the check engine light and set a code with a trans problem.
Have you checked the fluid level? Color? Smell? Low level, brown color, or burnt smell = bad.
