Default passenger side blind side detection error issue

my dash is telling me i have an issue with the blind side detection systems and the guy at the dealership says there is no way to turn that warning off except to disconnect battery and cross the ground and positive wires to each other to reset the computer or maybe an OB2 tool could do it.

i just got this thing used, so im new to volvos and learning about all the issues that they have and how to deal with them.

on the ride home that night i bought it, the passenger side blis light started flashing non-stop and then seemed to work fine the next day. then i got the blis system needs service warning and now today the passenger side goes from not working at all to working only one out of ten times there is a car in my passenger blind spot. the next time i drove it everything was working fine so i guess the sun was shining just right to make it go freaky as i have read that this often happens as well as dawn and dusk this act weird.

just for future reference if i ever need to fix it, from what i can see there is the eye thing in the mirror so what do i need to replace? the sensor eye, or is there a control module in the door somewhere that runs it?

thanks for your help

EDIT: well you cant turn off the bliss system needs service warning with an OB2 scanner

time to disconnect the battery and try that next, crossing fingers
