Default Power steering fuse keeps blowing

While driving the power system goes out and I get a message please service power steering system. I checked the steering fluid and it was good. I then checked the fuses and discovered the 10A power steering fuse under the dash was blown. I replaced the fuse but it keeps blowing after driving. I anyone has a solution or has experienced this problem please let no know.

Default Problem fixed

I figured out the problem. After I found the power steering pump which is in front of the wheel well on the passenger side. I had a short with the wiring to the pump. I hope this helps someone else.

My #8 fuse (30 Amp) blows if I try to raise or lower the windows when the car is either not moving, or I turn the key on for just the electrical on before starting.
I have had to replace this fuse 3 times now. Would the steering column issue answer be the same for this problem as the others above?
Thanks,
TOTALLY CONFUSED about this one.

check out the wiring diagram on Volvotips.com - the fuse is blowing because of a short circuit somewhere. you'd need to do some probing with a meter to see where the connection is failing.

It's very confusing to tack on an unrelated problem to an OLD thread (almost exactly 10 years old).

What I'd recommend is to pull the fuse, and stick the leads of a leaded 12 volt bulb (preferably 10 watt or larger) into the fuse socket. Then, if the short circuit exists, the lamp will light up (and also limit the current so nothing gets burned up or even hot, other than the light bulb). Then you just have to figure out what "turns on the light bulb".

OK, many thanks, I'll get going in the general direction of that. BTW, Volvo tips is an amazing site, might even make a man outta me (as concerns repairs)..
