Hi,
Hoping to get some help from here. I have a car s40 2.4 2006.
I have problwm with the central locking on all doors.
The key stops working and its not possible to open or lock non of the doors.
Nothing is happening.
I noticed that the problem arrived when I've been washing the car or it's been raining.

Do anyone has a clue where the problem could be?,where to start looking.

After you leave the car for some time in the sun does it start working again? Have you also checked the battery in your key fob ?
By washing the car are you also washing the engine bay also ?

 

Yes when I did that yeasterday it worked this morning when the sun was shining And it was warmer outside.

Key battery is changed to a new one.
No not a Engine wash was made, Only outside

And the battery in the car seems fine to.

 

Well then water is getting into the receiver and shorting something but I believe its behind the dash (not sure) so that is a small probability , try changing the remote setting from the menu , diagnostic of this sort of problem is difficult as its intermittent . It could be shorted wires , broken wires for the CL in any of the doors . My boot would not open as the wiring loom was Damaged , but the doors still opened so perhaps when it stops working see if it still unlocks the boot (trunk in your country) so perhaps some worn out insulation on the door wiring and when some water or moisture gets it it shorts ?
Does the light switch on the remote work? the yellow button
I believe if the receiver module fails it does show error codes on a OBD reader
I assume the emergency alum key works to lock/unlock the car
