I have to change the top radiator hose in my s40 has anyone done this in the past and any tips to offer?

 

Which year and model? On my 2001 it was easy and fairly quick. On my 2005 T5 it was crazy. I had to take the air cleaner housing off to make enough room to work. This is a tight fit and it helps if you rock the engine back a bit to wiggle it out. The 2.4L engine is a bit better but it's still buried.

 

on the 2000-2004s, its easy but you may want to also replace the hose that runs from the upper radiator hose to the coolant overflow tank as well. Sometimes the end can get torn up by the clamp and its best to replace that as well and give yourself all new clamps.
