Are the radios the same in the 2006 S40 and S60? I am looking to get an Apline cd player installed, and scosche has a dash kit that fits S60, so I was wondering if that would also work in my S40. Thanks for any help.

really, on the newer ones you cant change the head unit area? Well if you really wanted to change it, Tweeter can do a custom job on something like that, I saw them do it on a Bmw and looked fully stock afterwards...

 

It's going to be very hard to change the audio system in the S40. Everything in it is digital. All the wires to the speakers and to the unit are digital.

 

first of all the new s40 and the s60 have completely different radios. the s40 uses fiber optic cables for the audio system but u could change the speakers to aftermarket they have regular 2 pin connectors. the radio itself would be very hard and more money than its worth to change to aftermarket
