Default How to remove drive side front door panel?

I need to get inside the driver side door front door panel on my 93 240 that has electric windows.

I have all of the screws out of the arm rest(place where window switches sit), do I just twist entire assembly
to have upper part disengage from door? Have done it this way on my 85, but don't want to break anything!

In the middle of this now, so any quick answers would be appreciated!

Thanks

the 85 and 92 240 doors are virtually identical.

I've not taken a door panel off a 240 in too long but I do remember something about rotating the handle to unlock the top of it. if this was a 740/940 I could rattle the whole procedure off my head.

Yeah, you just rotate the whole handle about 1/4 turn up and it should come out. Then pop out latch plate, the plastic rectangular frame around the latch. Then the panel should be separated from the door using a flat type tool, a stiff scraper is best, then the panel should come free, you can remove it from the door, lift it up so the top part comes loose...

I bought a bag of cheap chinese trim tools. little plastic crowbars and stuff. they are great for popping trim panels off.

these were a few $$ on fleabay.

IIRC, you have to pop a bunch of pins off around the bottom of the door. I'd have some spare clips and pins on hand.
