Replacing a Half Shaft

Replacing a Half Shaft
Hello all,
I am possibly looking to replace my half shaft axle and didn't really find anything as detailed in the S40 forum as this sticky from the S60 forum:
https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-s60-v60-10/s60-front-hub-axle-replacement-worthy-sticky-46937/
Does all that apply to my '02 S40 as well? Or are there some extra steps in there (or even missing steps) when compared to changing it on my '02 S40?

Code:
LT axle: Using pry bar, apply pressure to "pop" the axle free of the transaxle. There is an internal "C" clip that retains it in the transaxle. Then withdraw axle from the transaxle, being careful not to damage seal.
Anyone have any ideas? I can see the circ-clip on the new drivers-side half-shaft. How on earth do you get it out?

Hang in there it WILL come out. Yanking or pounding won't work though. You need to exert steady pressure so that the c-clip has a chance to compress. I killed myself using a traditional pry-bar and it would not budge. I then tried with roofing pry bar sticking the short end in between the trans and the axle and applying pressure to the long side. Had it out in 60sec. See the following Robert spinner video for a visual of what I mean. He used the same pry bar.
