I have an '01 S40. Intermittent windshield wiper does not work, also my cruise control cuts out occasionally. Dealer told me problem was CEM, about a grand to replace. I've picked up a used one on Ebay that seems to match my car. I read somewhere that these are fairly easy to replace near the driver side kick plate. Has anyone got info on how to do this this? Thanks!

 

Ok, I changed out my CEM. Not hard at all, what was I thinking? Sometimes you just got to try right? Windshield wipers working fine now in all capacities. Only cost me $54 bucks on Ebay. But it did not correct my cruise control issue, which worked for a minute then declined. Will post this question in another topic.
