How long should it take to replace the power steering pump on my 2000 S40? My mechanic said about 2.5 hours, and that seemed a bit long to me. I've ordered the part and am waiting for it to arrive. I'm replacing the pump as the pulley is cracked. Thanks

 

Thats just what the labor guide calls for. All us mechanics whom are on flat rate, that is how we pay our bills and buy our food.

It actually could take that long depending on the severity.
