S40 2.0T Misfire

S40 2.0T Misfire
Hi,
i just purchased my first volvo, but it seems have a misfire, i changed the coil and lead on cylinder 2 and 3 and changed the spark plugs aswell, no real difference,
so then i got a compression test done on all cylinders, cylinder 3 failed, the mechanic told me it's most likely a damaged valve, and told me its gonna be very expensive,
anyone have any ideas,
car is 1998 S40 2.0T SE,
any help appreciated,

just come back from the mechanic, he removed the head, there was a damaged valve, and now i need to repalce the valve and get the head skimmed and pressure tested, and them buy a head gasket set etc, which is costing alot!
i have located another engine from a 2000 T4, will the engine be a straight swap? (from what ive read, the t4 uses a different turbo and runs at a higher psi, but the gearbox is the same)
will it fit in with my original turbo and is there anything i need to consider(wiring loom, ecu)?
My Engine: - B4204T
T4 Engine: - B4194T
