S40 2 Q's Dash Lights and Spk Plugs
New here as a member, been visiting a while... wife has a '04 S60 AWD new from dealer with remaining warranty therefore not really any tech ?'s, I just bought a used S40 Base as a run around has 55K on it and have a few questions, I want to change the Plugs now as they look a lillte ratty (pre 60k Checkup - closest dealer is over an hour away) and there is a bulb out on the A/C panel, far right for the temp Selection *****. ? is there is a recomendation in the onwers manual for Champion plugs RC8PYP I can not seem to find a Bosch Platiunim equivalent (which was my preference any thoughts anyone) and how does one remove or access the bulbs for the A/C panel. As an after thought have seen some unusual things electrical wise... occasionally... 30% of time, the "immobilaizer" icon comes on after car is started?!? and the Radio often "Searches" after I tune to a different preset... thoughts on any of this would be helpful...
The Cover for the A/C controls pops off. Then you you can access the screws to remove the panel to get to the light bulbs.
I think the Bosch plugs are FR7DP plugs.
The immoblizer light try marking the key and see if it only does it when the Key is in one way. If so then the Antenna ring around the ignition is bad. It could also be a int. bad key.

Thanks for the info, what a pain to access the bulbs, actually the hardest part was getting the airtube off the back and while I have not made it to NAPA yet my guess is that those bulbs will be dealer parts only.. I will experiment with the key issue, what does "int." "int. bad key" mean/stand for. Supposing it is the antenna ring, what would we be looking at to replace it price wise through the dealer (presuming thats the only solution)?
The Key could Intermitantly not send a signal. Or the Antenna ring be bad. You can change the Antenna ring your self. It is under the Covers around the column. Not sure the price of the parts though.
