Question S40 AC works sometimes HELP!



I have an issue to were my air will only work if i have the blower set to 5, position to AUTO and I wait for "4" beeps of the key being turned to the "on" position before i start it.
Wont work if i wait for more than or less than 4 beeps or if I take it off of max blow speed.

Any reason why?

bad climate control resistor maybe (the one located behind the glove compartment).

The part itself is about $50 but apparently you can take it apart and simply replace the resistor inside. I have not tried but I'm told it's an easy/cheap job.

It is easy with a few hand tools. I just ordered the OEM resistor from ebay:
1pcs Motorola MJ802 Transistor to 3 TO3 NPN 30A 100V 200W | eBay

Here is the heat sink with resistor:
