I am a new owner of a volvo S40 2000 model my volvo will not idle when it is cold need to hold the accerator in for about a minite or two bofore it idles do anyone know wat the problem might be

 

Could be the throttle body needs cleaning or possibly a faulty maf.
Get the car checked out for stored fault codes to give some more specific clues.
May be due to a number of possible issues.

 

Moved from "New Member" to S40.

 

Does it take a long cranking time to start? Suspect the fuel pressure regulator. Check with a pressure tester. The fuel pressure should hold for a long time after you shut off the engine. It should never go to zero as soon as you turn off the key.
