The passenger door on my S40 2005 Volvo is locked, and is not responding to
the electronic unlock. Interestingly enough i cannot open it manually from inside. I pull twice on the handle, the pin pops up, but the door will not open.

I have managed to pull off the panel half way through, but I am not sure
if I will be able to completely take it off. And even if I do, I am not sure that
I'll be able to get to the jammed lock.
Is there an easy/clever way to open this door ?

 

We had a 2001 V70 in the shop a few weeks ago, same problem, but drivers door.

3 hours, 2 people, prybars, screw drivers and hammers got it open.

What happens is the lock itself spins 180 over, and it hangs up. It will not latch properly or open. Takes brute force to manually rotate the latch.

 

I have a S40 drivers door do the same thing. Was able to get the panel all the way out. But took 2 hrs of destroying the lock to get it open.
