S40 heater wing mirror glass adhesive

My passenger wing mirror has just fell out, luckily enough no damage.
what I would like to know is if I can glue back on and if so with what adhesive. Tia

I used 3M 2 sided automotive trim mounting tape, I happened to have lying around. Worked fine, no mess.
