Well after years of trouble free motoring I suppose that things will slowly start deteriorate , I had this PCV replaced under warranty 12 years ago , but it has now failed again
The replacement cost here in RSA is ridiculous over 200 pounds and a used one not much cheaper , so my sister in UK has ordered the replacement diaphragm from Poland and will send to me as they will not post to South Africa .cost around 10 pounds
Has anyone just replaced the diaphragm with success , and do you need to clean the PCV
Until fixed I will just park the car

Yeah mate you could get some carb cleaner or brake cleaner n give the old one a good clean use toothbrushes too it ain't gonna do no harm
Thanks we will do that if needed , decided to take it out and 'service' the unit if it needs , I assume the diaphragm act as a PCV valve releasing the required pressure
Just popping the cover off ( not easy) will not give enough space to properly inspect it
Ok I finally got the part but its virtually impossible to change when in situ so had to be taken out , and I recommend this as there was sludge build up which probably damaged it and can be cleaned easily with the entire unit out The actual diaphragm and where its damaged
