I've experienced a high pitch screeching noise in my front end a few times. At first I thought it was something major for sure. I'm a DIYer as I don't like the high price of repairs. Anyway, I figured it out as it was something very simple.

I took off my front tires and looked around. Sure enough there was a small pebble stuck between my brake drum and the thin metal plate. I dislodged the pebble and put the tires back on. Bingo...the sound went away. So, everytime this happens, I know what it is. No need for a major repair. Happy driving now.
