Default Service light

Service light came on at around 69k on my 04 LSE. Is this a normal interval for it to come on? If so, will it go out or am I doomed to have the stealer take care of it?

Default RE: Service light

Service intervals for your model are 7,500 which should put the light on at 67,500 or thereabouts if the services have been done at the exact mileages. That is very rare.

This is from the owner's manual:

Service Reminder Light
This light will come on according to preset service intervals or after 750 hours of driving or after 12 months, whichever occurs first. It is a reminder to the driver that the service interval has been exceeded. The light will stay on for 2 minutes after start until reset by the servicing retailer.

You may be able to reset it yourself. Press and hold the trip reset button on the speedo. Switch on the ignition. Keep the trip button depressed until the service interval indicator flashes (approx 10 seconds). Release the trip reset button within 4 seconds. There will be an audible signal when the reset is complete and the service light will go out. If the reset button is not released within 4 seconds the service light will not be reset but will stop flashing.

This is not an alternative to servicing the vehicle at the required interval.
