Default Slow acceleration

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping you can help me identify the issue with my 2009 1.6TD Volvo. I apologize in advance for any errors in naming technical terms.. English is not my first language and I have no knowledge about cars.
So, I'm kind of desperate.. Nobody here in my city was able to help me.. In the first gear if you don't hit hard the gas pedal the engine dies. Starting second gear the acceleration is very slow, you hit the pedal.and nothing happens for some seconda. After that it starts to accelerate.
I already went to 4 service shops including my Volvo dealer and they did not fix the issue. First they said it's the DPF so I changed the DPF. Did not solve the problem. Then they said it's the turbo so I changed the turbo with a reconditioned turbo. Did not solve the problem. Then they said it's the turbo electrovalve so I changed that one too. Again it did not solve the problem. I already spent more than 2000 euros with no result. Any ideas about what I should check?

Not many on this forum will know anything about the diesel Volvos (we don't get them in the US, sadly). Is the car throwing any OBD codes?

Otherwise, it could be a lot of things - bad compression (hope not!), fuel supply / pressure, timing, vacuum leak, PCV or EGR systems (if the diesels even have those), etc.

There are no error codes as far as I understood from the last service shop I went.
Thank you anyway for your reply.

To me it sounds a lot like a vacuum leak which is more easily found with a smoke test (pumping low pressure smoke through the intake, after the turbo, usually through the manifold, to see if it leaks out from anywhere) I am very surprised you have no check engine light or error codes through VIDA. Like habbyguy said, us americans don't have many diesels here.

Thank you for your reply. I will give it one more try with another service shop next week. Maybe they will find something.

take it to a shop that services volvos, VIDA is the best diagnostic system to use and it is volvo specific

That to me is quite ridiculous after spending vast amount of money 2000 EU is a lot and no result , surely if you send it to the dealer they have to give you a quote to fix and if they fail then the additional cost is for them, well thats how it works in South Africa
Your problem could be many but you have eliminated most the diesel particle filter that they changed is fairly cheap so yes , the turbo no if it failed to such extent there would be oil all over the place and if you are a decent mech you would know it does not need replacing after removing it
Generally on these cars what causes bad response is the fuel pressure sensor and sometimes it does not show any codes
Also not that familiar with the 1.6 (we never had one here) but do you also have a water separation filter?
